It takes a great number of dedicated, hardworking people to run a successful fair. Please consider volunteering to help make the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba's fairs and events a resounding success. Simply complete the form below and click the submit button. It's that easy! Positions currently available
Carnival Club (formerly the Summer Saloon)
Looking for volunteer bar tenders to serve drinks from 10 PM – 1 AM on Friday, June 11th and Saturday, June 12th. Volunteers must be 18 and hold an “It’s good business” servers permit. We are also looking for volunteers to collect the cover charge at the entrance for the same time periods.
Olympic Quilt Display
Volunteers needed to supervise guests viewing the quilt display in the Convention Hall of the Keystone Centre on Wednesday, June 9th and Thursday, June 10th from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM. There will be two shifts: 4:00 -7:00 and 6:00 -9:00 each day. We could also use help from volunteers to help put up the display on Tuesday night and take it down on Thursday night.
KidZone
It is filled with family friendly activities such as a giant sand box, giant floor games like checkers, face painting area, bubble making area, bean bag toss area, calf roping equipment, mini basket ball area, an entertainment stage for performers like Doodles the Clown and the major attraction the Petting Zoo.
We are looking for folks that want to help build this area by contributing to the planning committee and we are looking for folks willing to put in a few hours of help during the fair. Duties would include restocking supplies for craft areas and bubble zone, helping with face painting and crafts, keeping the area tidy and encouraging kids to play!
We are looking for volunteers to fill these shifts: (Wed & Thurs 3:30 -7:00, 6:00 – 9:30) (Fri 1:30 -5:30, 5:30 – 9:30) (Sat 11:30 – 3:30, 2:30 – 6:30, 5:30 – 9:30) (Sun 11:30 – 3:30, 2:30 – 6:30)
Hunter / Jumper Horse Show
Looking for attentive volunteers to help with the outdoor Hunter/Jumper Horse Show. Applicant must be reliable, assertive and able to work with a team. Some jobs available are: announcer; gate; gate assistant; judge runner and ribbons. Shifts will be at least 3 hours long starting at 8 am until approximately 6 pm Friday through Sunday.
Demolition Derby
The Demo Derby committee are looking for some volunteers to assist prior to and during the Derby on Sunday, Jun 13th. Those interested should have some experience with cars. The committee will be screening for suitability. (more information regarding the requirements of these volunteers to follow)
Lord Stud-lee the Mascot:
We need people that enjoy interacting with the public and having fun. These individuals should be comfortable walking in crowds with limited vision in a warm horse suit! Lord Stud-lee will be touring the fair grounds and making an appearance at a few events prior to the fair including the Kiwanis Kar Derby, Saturday May 29th (11-12, 1-2ish) and during our off-grounds event on June 5th (times to be determined). During the fair we need a volunteer mascot in roughly the following time slots: Wed, June 9th 5-6, 8-9 – Thurs, June 10th 3-4, 5-6, 8-9 – Fri, June 11th 3-4, 5-6, 8-9 – Sat, June 12th 10:30 – 12 (for the parade), 2-3, 4-5, 7-8 – Sun, June 13th 12-1, 2-3. If you would be interested in filling in some of these time slots let us know.
