Ag Awareness

Come and visit our "hands-on" ag-awareness area!  During the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair we bring the country to the city. Be sure to visit both the Royal Farm Yard and Thru the Farm Gate – there’s so much to explore!

The Royal Farm Yard

Stepping into the Royal Farm Yard is just the beginning of your interactive Agricultural Experience.  The Ag-tivity Zone is overflowing with ag-tivities for you. Try separating seed, playing in the sand box, riding the tractors and posing for some fun farm pictures!

While you’re in the Royal Farm Yard, be sure to pay a visit to Cattle Country.  Can you tell the difference between the different breeds of cattle participating in Cattle Country?

The Learning Stage demonstrations will include training information from the Super Dogs, Cattle Shows and other interesting and unique shows!  Visit our website closer to the fair for a full schedule of what’s going on at the Learning Stage.

Along with Cattle Country and the Learning Stage the Royal Farm Yard plays host to a variety of Live Animal Displays such as Miniature Horses and the Red Coats of the North West.

Thru the Farm Gate

When you leave the Royal Farm Yard and go Thru the Farm Gate, new adventures await you.

Thru the Farm Gate showcases live animal displays for Beef, Dairy, Swine, Eggs and Poultry.  Allow yourself lots of time to visit the exhibits where you will learn about where your food comes from, and how animals live on the farm.

Do you know the difference between a cereal seed, an oil seed or a pulse seed?  Visit our Grain Bin and learn for yourself.  The Bio-Diesel Truck and Jet Funny Car will show you how canola seeds can be used in different ways.  Don't forget to stop and mill your own flour.

The Royal Petting Zoo is a favorite spot for all wanting to have fun with the cute and cuddly critters and get that perfect picture of the kids at the fair.  You can get right in the goat pen and hold one on your knee or visit the Dexter cattle up close and personal!

The Royal Farm Yard and Thru the Farm Gate are open to the public from 11 am – 8 pm daily during the fair.
